OVERVIEW

UET was founded by Nouvelles Frontières in 1990, the leading French tour operator, with 1.6 million passengers today to  87 destinations. Nouvelles Frontières is part of TUI AG the global German tour operator. In 1994, UET moved to Italy becoming UET Italia srl. In 1995, Rome campus was launched. In 1996, Milan campus was launched following UET’s second cross-border course for bed and breakfast operators. UET awarded ENI-ISO/9001 Vision 2000 certification in 2003. In 2006, an MOU was signed with the University of Sapienza of Rome and Zhenghzou University of Henan for credit transfer. In 2012, UET launched the first IHG Academy in partnership with Intercontinental Hotel Group. In 2016, the launch of UET International offering English-taught postgraduate programmes in hospitality and tourism management.     

SCHOOL MILESTONES

1990
UET is founded in France by Nouvelles Frontières. The two-year course for Polyfunctional Tourist Services Technician is acknowledged by the French Ministries of Education, Labour and Tourism. UET provides different periods of internship both in Italy and abroad for all courses.
1993
UET is authorised by the then Italian Ministry of Education to offer a Diploma in Polyfunctional Tourist Services Technician.
1995
Rome Campus launch
1996
UET organises the 1st “Cross Border Seminar on Tourism Professional Training” at the Campidoglio in Rome - Protomoteca Hall.
1997
Milan Campus launch, 2nd  Cross-Border Course, Course for Bed & Breakfast Operators in Rome
1998
UET organises a number of courses for the European Social Fund and European Commission.
1999
UET undertakes a number of rural projects for Sicily, launch of CSTO - High certificate for Operational Tourism and CMA - Certificate of Hotel Management.
2000
UET offers tourism and hotel training courses for the Provinces of Agrigento and Lazio Labour and Professsional Training Departments.
2001
UET offers tourism and hotel training courses for the Provinces of Agrigento and Lazio Labour and Professsional Training Departments.
2002
Exam preparation centre for the ESBT - European Language Qualification for Tourism Operators for German, English, French, Spanish and Italian language.
2003
UET is awarded the ENI-ISO/9001 Vision 2000 certification, offers Italian language with University of Shanghai, develops cooperation with universities in Beijing, and delivers training to Lombardy Region in Italy.
2004
UET hosts first Chinese students in Italy and partners with European Commission on Leonardo Da Vinci programme.
2005
UET agrees with A.D.A. Associazione Direttori d’Albergo (Association of Hotel Directors) on training to the hotel sector. Cooperation with University of Rome “Sapienza” in relation to knowledge transfer, and national and international internships.
2006
Credit transfer MoU signed with University of Rome “Sapienza”.
MoU with “Zhenghzou Tourism College” of Henan, China.
Launch of Palermo campus.
Launch of office in Shanghai.
2007
UET partners on various employability initiatives in the Sicily Region.Participation in Study abroad Fair in Tokyo.Offering first Master in Tourism Management with EFAL.MoU signed with University Consortium of University of Palermo and College of Tourism, Ji Guang, Shanghai, China.  
2008
Training partnership with Travel Buy Group Launch of Master in Congress Tourism MoU with University “KORE” and Universite Libre of Congo
Organisation of Recruitment Day in Tuscany Tour coordination for Sholin Monks - protocol signed between Henan Region, China and Sicily Region, Italy.
2009
Launch of Business & Restaurant Manager 1st Ed, Rome campus
Launch of Master in Environmentally Sustainable Tourism Bilateral agreement on incoming tourism with Italian Consulate in Shanghai in partnership with University of Rome “Sapienza”, Tourism Dept from Municipality of Reggio Calabria and FederAlberghi of Garda Lake.

UETravel launched specifically to facilitate the travel and education of Chinese Students into Italy.

UET Italia has many cooperation and student exchange understandings with Italian, French, Turkish, Chinese and Indian Universities including Sapienza University, Università degli Studi di Palermo, Shanghai Normal University in Shanghai, Zhengzhou University in Henan, Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao, Zhejiang University, Amtiy University, Selçuk Üniversitesi, and Saint Marie de Chavagnes.

We have many internship and other agreements in place with hotels and resorts, tour operators, travel agencies, tourist boards and destination management organisations, and consulting firms. We work with EUROPE 3000 Human Resources Agency in training students in tourist and accommodation facilities throughout Italy. Students come from high schools and universities of Ukraine, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Poland, Croatia, Slovakia , Latvia

We are the official partner of In 2017 UET becomes official partner of the AHK-Italian-German Chamber of Commerce for dual vocational training in the tourism-hotel sector.

EUROPEAN LINGUISTIC
STANDARD FOR TOURISM

UET Italia is one of six partners in SLEST 2.0, the European linguistic standard for tourism. The SLEST 2.0 project has been financed with the support of the European Commission.  The project built a platform for e-learning and distance learning,   networking and employment, and develop linguistic content for the hospitality and tourism professionals .
