Tuition Fees



1. Introduction

1.1. When you accept an offer of admission to Scuola Universitaria Europea per il Turismo and UET International Ltd (hereinafter referred to collectively as ‘UET’) a contractual relationship is established between you (the ‘Student’) and UET for the duration of your studies on a UET programme of studies (‘Programme’). It is important that you understand this document (the ‘Contract’) because it summarises the terms and conditions which the Student and UET accept are to govern their contractual relationship.

1.2. Before accepting an offer of admission or enrolling as a Student, you must read this Contract in full and raise any questions with UET if there is any part of it that you do not understand.

2. Rules and regulations

2.1. The Student will abide by UET’s rules, regulations, policies and codes that are in force at any given time. These include regulations relating to academic study, learning and assessment, conduct and discipline, use of services and facilities, payment of tuition or administration fees and expenses, health and safety, and intellectual property.

2.2. UET will abide by its own rules, regulations, policies and codes, and in this way, will aim to treat the Student fairly. UET may at any time make changes to its rules, regulations, policies and codes, and will make reasonable and proportionate efforts to bring any significant changes to the attention of the Student before they take effect.

2.3. UET and the Student will act in accordance with the Intellectual Property Policy. Under this policy, UET will normally own any intellectual property generated by the Student.

3. Registration at UET

3.1. Where applicable, upon arrival to Italy, the Student shall—

a. register with UET to obtain the necessary accommodation licensing documents they will need to submit to local police giving the entitlement to enter and remain in Italy for study in accordance with the Italian Immigration Rules.

b. comply with any conditions set out in the UET’s offer of admission;

c. inform UET of any circumstances that may affect their visa or enrolment status;

3.2. UET may terminate the Student’s registration and dismiss the Student from the Programme if at any time—

a. it is discovered that s/he has made false statements or omitted significant information in his/her application to UET;

b. it is decided by UET that an emerging Student circumstance that may be incompatible with study at UET;

c. the Student is unable to prove that s/he currently has the entitlement to enter and remain in the Italy for the purpose of study in accordance with the Italian Immigration Rules.

4. Fees

4.1. The Student shall pay to UET all deposits, fees, charges and expenses when these fall due.

4.2. The Programme’s (as per our brochure subject to changes from time to time by UET at its own discretion) duration is as stipulated in your unconditional offer. The Student must pass all modules in each phase to progress to the next phase. The Student will be allowed to be referred in a failed component free of charge only once. The Student will be charged for a second referral at a rate of £300 per referral. The Students is not allowed to sit in a third referral but must re-sit the entire module which may increase the duration of studies. Resitting a module will be charged by UET based on its own discretion on a prorated fee.   

4.3. The Programme starts as stipulated in your unconditional offer. Classes generally run from Monday to Friday, where applicable.

4.4. UET may cancel the Programme if the minimum number of participants has not been reached.

4.5. The Student must give a written justification for any absence. Any unjustified absence of three days or more will result in the Student being dismissed automatically from the Programme.

4.6. Application documents must reach school as soon as possible. To receive a certificate of enrolment, requested for obtaining a VISA, students must pay the enrolment fee, and deposit.  The amount of deposit required is confirmed in our unconditional offer and may reach up to 100% of full tuition fees. The amount of deposit is decided at UET’s discretion from time to time on a case-by-case basis. The deposit will be deducted from the final payment. Students must settle the total tuition fees amount of the Programme within 5 (five) working days from receiving their Study Visa from the Italian Consulate General. Payment must be made to the bank account UET nominates from time to time on the Unconditional Offer. Failure to settle final tuition fee balances within 5 (five) working days from receiving the Study Visa from the Italian Consulate General, could result at UET’s discretion in the termination of the student’s registration at UET and the Programme. UET will inform the Italian Consulate General of such termination who may cancel the Student’s Study Visa.

5. Refunds Policy

5.1 The Student shall forfeit their full deposit and enrolment fees if: (a) he/she has not applied for Student Visa at an Italian Consulate General at least 60 days before the start date of the Programme, (b) he/she applied for and obtained a visa other than the correct visa type and duration, (c) he/she withdraws his/her visa application and/or withdraws from the Programme before a Study Visa is issued or rejected by an Italian Consulate General, or (d) his/her Visa Application is refused by an Italian Consulate General for any of the following reasons:

A false/counterfeit/forged document was presented.

Justification for the purpose and the conditions of the intended stay was not provided.

The Student has not provided proof of sufficient means of subsistence, both for the duration of the intended stay or for the return to the country of origin or residence, or for the transit to a third Country into which The Student is certain to be admitted, or the Student is not in a position to acquire such means lawfully.

An alert has been issued in the Schengen Information System (SIS) for the purpose of refusing entry by a Schengen or EU Member State.

One or more Schengen or EU Member State(s) consider the Student to be a threat to public policy, internal security, public health or the international relations of one or more of the Schengen or EU Member State(s).

Proof of holding an adequate and valid travel medical insurance was not provided

Revocation of the visa was required by the Student    

The burden is always on the Student to present to UET the Visa Refusal Letter from an Italian Consulate General stating the reason(s) for rejection.

5.2 The Student shall forfeit he/she full tuition and enrolment fees whether paid or not if: (1) his/her visa was annulled or revoked by an Italian Consulate General, or (2) he/she withdraws from the Programme on or after the date of issuance of his/her Study Visa. In either case, the full tuition fees become fully payable immediately.

5.3 If UET cancels the Programme or any components of it the prorated tuition fees for the cancelled component(s) will be reimbursed to the Student. In case of cancellation of the Programme, we will inform the Italian Consulate General who may cancel your Study Visa. No reimbursement will be made for missed lessons (i.e. if the Student arrives after the beginning of the Programme, misses lessons, or leaves before the end of the Programme).

5.4 Enrolment fees are non-refundable.

5.5 Termination of registration at UET or dismissal from the Programme will have consequences regarding visa status for international students and may result in cancellation of your Study Visa. You will need to immediately contact the relevant authorities informing them about your dismissal or termination. Also, note that no refund is issued to any Student whose registration at UET has been terminated or who is dismissed from the Programme due to provision of false statements or omission of significant information in his/her application, gross academic misconduct such as academic dishonesty or plagiarism, the breach of the terms of this Contract, or the violation of UET’s rules, regulations, policies and codes regardless of whether or not they paid all their tuition fees in advance or not (for their entire Programme).

6. Academic study

6.1. The Student will—

a. participate fully in his/her programme of study, including by attending and taking part in classes and activities, and by undertaking and submitting work within deadlines;

b. notify UET and provide reasons if s/he is unable to attend or produce work;

c. not seek to obtain, or assist another student in obtaining, an unfair advantage over other students in relation to his/her programme of study;

d. permit UET and third parties authorised by the UET to make and to retain copies of submitted work to assess it for originality and to compare it at a later date with future submissions.

6.2. UET will provide a learning environment which, in its academic judgement and within its control, is appropriate for the Student’s programme of study.

6.3. To introduce improvements and in response to changing circumstances UET at any time acting reasonably may alter, discontinue or cancel the Student’s programme of study, or merge or combine it with other programmes of study. In this event—

a. If prior to registration UET significantly alters, discontinues or cancels the Student’s programme of study, then it will notify the Student in advance if reasonably possible and the Student shall be entitled to withdraw his/her application by written notice to UET. In these circumstances any deposits and fees paid by the Student will be refunded in full.

b. If after registration UET significantly alters, discontinues or cancels the Student’s programme of study, then it will make a reasonable offer to the Student of alternative arrangements and take reasonable steps to mitigate any adverse effects for the Student.

6.4. UET can decide to replace teachers at any time without previous communication  

6.5. UET will supply students with electronic materials or giving access to UET electronic platform at no further costs.

7. Communications

7.1. UET will provide the Student with a UET e-mail account for the duration of his/her studies and will use this when communicating with the Student by e-mail.

7.2. The Student will—

a. only use his/her UET account when contacting UET staff by e-mail, so that UET staff can be reasonably sure of the Student’s identity;

b. inform UET promptly about any changes of postal address and telephone number.

8. Insurance

Students will be covered by insurance with regards to damage and accident during the school time. Students will not be insured against illness, accidents, theft or loss of personal possessions either by the school or by those offering accommodation.

9. Accommodation

9.1. The Student will be responsible for making his/her own arrangements at his/her own expense for accommodation and insurance of personal belongings for the duration of his/her studies. Upon request, accommodation arrangements may be made through UET at its own discretion but will be subject to separate agreements.

9.2. During the summer the school may organise various social activities. They are subject to separate fee arrangements and depend on the chosen activity.

10. General

10.1. Enrolment is subject to:

a. Student must enclose with his/her application legalised degrees and certifications by the Italian Institute of Culture in the Student’s home country. The Student must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent preferably in tourism, hospitality or related discipline in case postgraduate programmes and high school diploma in case of undergraduate diplomas.  

b. Student must obtain a Study Visa issued by the Visa Office at the Italian Consulate General of his/her home country. The visa must be valid for the duration of the programme.

10.2. If the Student does not act in accordance with the terms and conditions set out in this Contract, or with any of the UET’s rules, regulations, policies and codes that are in force at any given time, UET may take disciplinary action against the Student. The Student agrees that all relevant staff will be advised of the outcome. One of the possible outcomes of disciplinary action is the dismissal of the Student from the Programme.

10.3. This Contract is only enforceable by the Student and UET. No other person shall have any rights in connection with this Contract.

10.4. If any part of this Contract becomes illegal or invalid, the parts of the Contract which are not illegal or invalid shall remain in force.

10.5.Neither UET or the Student shall be liable for failure to perform any obligations under this Contract if such failure arises from circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including acts of God, war, terrorism, industrial disputes (including disputes involving the UET's employees), fire, flood, tempest and national emergencies. If either UET or the Student seeks to rely on this Clause 10.5, then they shall ensure that the consequences of any failure to act in accordance with this Contract are kept to a minimum.

10.6. Failure of either UET or the Student to enforce any part of this Contract shall not be construed as a waiver of a right to enforce that part of the Contract and shall not affect the right later to enforce any part of the Contract.

10.7. This Contract constitutes the entire agreement between UET and the Student, and supersedes and cancels all prior agreements, discussions, representations, warranties, covenants and understandings between UET and the Student whether written, oral, implied or which would be inferred from the correspondence, oral statements or conduct of the parties to this Contract.    

10.8. This Contract is exclusively governed by the laws and jurisdiction of the courts of Italy or other jurisdictions exclusively chosen by UET at its own discretion.
